Course business expert: Allison Zang, Instructor/Owner at Absolute Pilates & Studio Grow Coach

Who is Allison Zang?

I started teaching Pilates in my late teens, I grew up in family educators and I vowed at a young age I would never do that so I went to business school. Never say never. I love what I do, and I am so thankful for my clients and instructors. I have taught Pilates to everyone over the last 20 plus years the young the old, rock star athletes, prima ballerinas, injured, chronically ill, the beginner, and expert. I took a step back and realized it is all fun for me but what draws me in to teach Pilates and coaching is those who feel they can’t. (the secret is out you can!) I have a Masters Degree in Exercise Physiology from the University of Pittsburgh and two undergrad degrees from PITT. (I am a learning junkie) #H2P I once did Epidemiology Research at Pitt on several NIH-funded projects. I currently am part of the amazing coaching team at Studio Grow. I love working with boutique studio owners to help them crush their business goals.

I completed the comprehensive teacher training offered from Core Dynamics Pilates in Santa Fe, NM in the Eve Gentry tradition. Eve is one of the Pilates elders who studied with Joe Pilates. Along several thousand other hours of con-ed leading to me being a classically trained instructor gone, rogue. In 2015 I franchised my Pilates studio model and in 2018 my studio became the first Pilates studio to become a b-corp.

Love some of those fresh ideas and reassurance that I’m on the right track. There were many things I used to do to retain my clients and while I don’t have anyone on my Churn risk report, it’s so healthy to get into a routine so I’m not caught off guard.
